In a recent press release, it was announced the St. Pete’s Grand Central District was named the Florida Main Street Community of the Month for November 2014. Secretary of State Ken Detzner announced today that Grand Central District has been designated the Florida Main Street Community of the Month for November 2014. Communities are selected based on their developmental achievements and participation in the Florida Main Street Program. The Grand Central District was designated a Main Street community in 2001. The area thrived until the construction of I-275 which pushed many of the local businesses west, or shut them down all together. In 1990, the community got organized and began... Read More
